Grandfather wearing newborn

I was walking with Jack through our neighborhood community garden last summer when I saw this man walk in. It completely stopped me in my tracks. I approached him and asked if I could take his picture and put it on the internet. He laughed and said that would be fine. His wife (not pictured) proceeded to tell me the story behind this beautiful baby. Their daughter (not pictured) gave birth preterm. This baby was immediately placed in kangaroo care and has not been put down since. Family members came to the home to assist with taking shifts wearing him. I happened to find them during Grandpa’s shift.

  1. I love this! Everything about it. From the baby wearing itself, who’s doing it, the fact that the whole family is pitching in to give that little guy what he needs, and of course that precious little face, peacefully snuggled in! Thanks for sharing!
