  1. What is your background?

Author Bio:

Rachel Rainbolt is an insightful, nurturing, genuine, and badass parenting sage who empowers gentle parents to confidently connect with their adorably exasperating little ones through her books, classes, and coaching.

She is a homeschooling and attachment parenting mother of three with nearly two decades of experience working with young children and parents, has a master’s degree in family therapy, is a featured parenting expert and media advocate on television and radio, published author of parenting books, articles, and curricula, and a certified parent educator with her company Sage Parenting.

  1. What inspired you to write this book?

When I had my first baby, I was drowning in the sea of bad advice and unrealistic expectations. Only once I was able to empower my maternal wisdom and learn all I needed to make informed choices, was I able to enjoy restful nights with my babies.

In my work supporting mamas with little ones, especially through my Sage Nighttime Parenting Coaching, I just kept coming up against family after family who was completely weighed down with misinformation. Pediatricians, sleep trainers, family members, media, all pile on personal opinions represented as truths when it comes to the world of nighttime parenting. I wrote this book to bulldoze away the bullshit so you can get the evidence-based truths about infant and toddler sleep and allow your connection with your little one to be at the heart of your nighttime parenting.
I wanted parents to know that you can honor that connection, make informed choices, AND utilize tons of great gentle ideas to actually sleep!

  1. Who is this book written for?

This book was written for mamas like me, mamas like Abby, and mamas like all of the other badass breastfeeders I have the pleasure of virtually getting to know: tired, gentle mamas of breastfeeding little ones who are ready to learn how to be rested and connected.

  1. What can someone expect to gain from reading this book?

After reading this book, you will be armed with all you need to confidently set up the nightlife of your dreams for you and your little ones.

  1. What do you want people to know about this book?

I want people to know that no matter what your nightlife looks like now, there is a gentle path to sleep. We cannot make your dependent newborn’s needs mature faster, but we can shift everything else to walk the path that sets you and your children up for a positive relationship with sleep for the long haul.
